The Collegiate Science and Technology Entry Program (CSTEP) is a New York State funded program designed to increase the number of NYS residents from historically underrepresented or low-income backgrounds to pursue undergraduate and graduate degrees, and careers leading to professional licensure or professions in science, technology, engineering, and health-related fields.

CSTEP was first established in 1986 and is now available at over 50 campuses across the state of New York.

The Cornell Professional Opportunity Programs (CPOP) is a Cornell specific initiative which focuses on first-generation college students and mirrors CSTEP in its goals and opportunities.

Since the Fall of 2012, CSTEP and CPOP programs are collectively referred to as the Pre Professional Programs or P3.
