Eligibility: Who can apply for P3?
Any undergraduate Cornell student in good academic standing according to their college who is eligible for CSTEP or CPOP and has an interest in one of the following fields:
- Accounting
- Architecture
- Dentistry
- Education
- Engineering
- Law
- Medicine
- Physical and Natural Sciences
- Psychology
- Veterinary Medicine
- Other Licensed Professions
CSTEP ELIGIBILITY
According to § 6455 of the New York State Education Law, CSTEP is 'for the purpose of increasing access by minority or disadvantaged students to academic programs that have been registered by the commissioner and that prepare students either for licensure in the professions or for employment in scientific and technical fields.'"
According to §145-6.6(b) of the Commissioner's Regulations, to be eligible for CSTEP, a student must:
- Be a resident of NYS, and
- Identify as
- African-American, Hispanic/Latino, American Indian or Alaskan native and/or
- Economically disadvantaged according to the income eligibility criteria set forth by NYS
CPOP ELIGIBILITY
To be eligible for CPOP, a student must be:
- Pell eligible, and/or
- A first generation college student
