What impact has OADI had on your academic or professional experience?

At Cornell, OADI has been a cornerstone of my journey—offering not only resources, but a community that truly believes in my potential. Through OADI, I’ve found mentorship, academic support, and spaces where I can be my full self. It’s helped me turn challenges into growth and connected me with opportunities I wouldn’t have found otherwise.

What has it meant to be recognized for an award and as a recipient?

Receiving the Marvin Jack Award was incredibly meaningful. It made me pause and reflect on how far I’ve come, especially as a student navigating space not always designed with people like me in mind. The recognition affirmed that the work I do—both in and outside the classroom—matters. It’s not just an award; it’s a reminder that my voice and efforts have an impact.

What values guide you and inspire you?

I’m guided by perseverance, equity, and compassion. I believe in showing up—for others and for myself—even when it’s hard. I’m inspired by people who create change by centering care and justice, and I try to embody those same principles in everything I do.

Tell us a fun fact about yourself.

I taught myself how to read and write in Spanish the professional way through countless books.
