1. What do you hope to get out of being an EOP/HEOP Ambassador?
I hope to gain a deeper sense of connection with the EOP/HEOP community by supporting students who may feel overwhelmed during their transition to college. By sharing my own experiences and offering guidance, I aim to develop stronger mentoring skills and further my commitment to equity in education.
2. What advice do you have for first year students?
Embrace every opportunity to step out of your comfort zone—join clubs, attend events, and ask questions. Don’t be afraid to seek help; there’s no shame in needing support, whether academically or personally. Build connections with your peers, professors, and advisors early on, as these relationships can provide guidance and encouragement throughout your college journey.
3. What do you hope to do with your career in the future?
I aspire to work in a field where I can combine education and public health to create meaningful impact, particularly in underserved communities. My goal is to help improve access to quality education and healthcare in rural areas, such as communities in Ghana, empowering individuals to reach their full potential and thrive.
4. What is a fun fact about yourself that most people do not know?
A fun fact about me is that I love swimming and being around water, but I’m afraid of the ocean. I can also spend hours watching TV shows, especially Korean dramas and Bob’s Burgers. It’s my favorite way to practice self-love and enjoy some quality “me time".
