What has it meant to be recognized for an award and as a recipient?
I feel honored to receive the Gloria Joseph award. I am glad to have received recognition for my efforts and I feel proud of how I've been able to contribute to diversity and inclusion in academic spaces. This award reinforces my commitment to advocating for equity and serving as a role model for future students facing similar challenges.
What values guide you and inspire you?
I am guided by compassion and perseverance, and I'm driven by a desire to contribute positively to my community and beyond.
What is your plan after college?
After college, I plan to work in a field related to intersectional environmentalism, as I am committed to sustainability as well as social justice. Underserved communities are the most impacted by the crisis of climate change, and I hope that I will be able to alleviate some of those burdens. I aspire to create meaningful impact through my work and advocate for equitable opportunities for all individuals and will be volunteering on the Sustainability Committee for the CNY chapter of ASHRAE.
