Foula joined the OADI team in August 2019. Originally from New Jersey, ze spent most of hir childhood in Appalachia (southern Kentucky) and Ohio, and has also lived in Honolulu, Rochester, NY, and Ann Arbor, MI.
As a first-generation college graduate, Foula earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology, and minor in women's studies from the University of Missouri–St. Louis, followed by a master's degree in macro-based social work from the University of Michigan. Ze is also a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW).
Foula and hir partner, Kay, share their home with Gato, a once-feral cat who adopted them while they lived in Colorado. You may even catch a glimpse of Kay and Foula walking Gato on a leash on West campus!
Outside of work, Foula games in multiple genres (video games, board games and RPGs), enjoys local theatre, explores NY State parks, reads a lot, goes to the Cornell Cinema, and spends time with hir chosen family. Ze is grateful to be part of the OADI community and the connections it fosters.
