Vivian Zayas, Ph.D., Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology
Posse Three Faculty Mentor

Vivian Zayas is an Associate Professor of Psychology and Director of the Personality, Attachment, and Control Laboratory at Cornell University.

Her research examines the cognitive-affective processes that regulate behaviors within interpersonal contexts. Her work addresses questions on attachment/affective bonds, first impressions, cognition of social dynamics, and delay of gratification. Because people are not always aware of why they feel or act as they do, she uses a variety of measures that tap into implicit/nonconscious processes.
