Family and Friends
Thank you for taking the time to learn more about the Arthur O. Eve Educational Opportunity Program and the Arthur O. Eve Higher Education Opportunity Program at Cornell University. These New York State programs are designed to help provide educational access to students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds who may otherwise have the potential and desire to succeed, though perhaps not the means to attend.
If you have a friend or family member that is applying to be a college student for the first time, please consider having them apply to be a part of EOP or HEOP. As an EOP/HEOP student, they will be part of a network of support designed to aid them throughout their Cornell career. Your student will have an advisor to work with them one to one in support academically, financially, and personally. Your student will have some responsibilities to the program as well. To see if your family qualifies economically for the program, please go to our applying page for more information.
It is important to the success of the student that the family is supportive of the student while they are in school. We want our parents, guardians and caregivers to remain active participants in the students’ lives, offering encouragement to their students to succeed and complete their degree here at Cornell. Together, with support from home and our support here, we know we can shape and create wonderful future leaders!
Please feel free to explore our entire website to see more of the opportunities available to your student through the Office of Academic Diversity Initiatives and Cornell University.
