Student Academic and Professional Organizations play a vital role in the development of leadership skills, while fostering a stronger sense of acceptance and community around mutual areas of interest.

The Office of Academic Diversity Initiatives (OADI) provides funding to university-recognized undergraduate student organizations to support events that fulfill two or more of the following objectives: promote multicultural student success and achievement, provide intellectual exchange and/or professional development for members of cultural student organizations, foster education around diversity and social justice, and create opportunities for community outreach, intercultural dialogue and coalition building. The maximum allotment for each award is $300. The OADI funding process is competitive, and funding is not guaranteed.  Please note, proposals must be submitted at least eight (8) weeks prior to the proposed date of the event.

Event Funding Proposals

Proposals for events in our meeting space should be submitted to OADI as a formal request. Only organizations that have the mission or relation to academic success or professional development will be reviewed. Members of such organizations should also be active participants of OADI services or programs in order to be reviewed as well. Event proposals can be sent to oadi-funding@cornell.edu for consideration.
