Research Interests: My dissertation examines pharmaceutical "desistance," or the cessation of long-term medications, and asks what shapes what becomes known-- and what remains unknown-- about the risks, benefits, and bodily experiences of stopping drugs. I focus on how pharmaceutical, clinical, and regulatory practices produce and manage uncertainty around withdrawal, relapse, and adverse effects across cases including SSRIs, GLP-1s, chronic pain medications, and hormonal contraceptives. More broadly, I am interested in how structurally produced ignorance, epistemic exclusion, and pharmaceutical life cycles shape medical knowledges and patient experiences.

About Me: I'm originally from Seoul and have lived in Princeton, NYC, and Oxford before arriving in Ithaca. Outside of research, I love reading, watching culinary shows, wandering around grocery stores, taking long walks, and early-morning swims/runs. I'm also a GRF over on West Campus, a graduate advisor for the Milstein program, and a graduate mentor for the STS department.
