Research Interests: My research focuses on how sociocultural factors shape the way we remember important life experiences. I am especially interested in the roles of culture, gender, and emotion in autobiographical memory, including the ways people make sense of their experiences and how these memories relate to psychological well-being. I also study changes in the emotions associated with memories over time and the effects of sharing personal experiences with others on remembering.

About Me: I’m originally from Istanbul, Turkey, and moved to the U.S. to pursue my PhD at Cornell. Outside of research, I enjoy traveling, working out, and baking sweet treats. I also like unwinding with a good Turkish soap opera and learning random facts about pretty much anything.
